Gasparilla Day Parade FAQ’s

Is Gasparilla Pirate Fest (Day Parade) free?
You bet cha, for over 100 years! Reserved seating is available, as well as brunch. (Both paid options)

Click here for tickets and pricing.

Can I Bring My Own Booze?
Well it is extremely frowned upon. Glass containers and coolers are NOT permitted for safety reasons.

Please do not use or bring styrofoam cups/containers to the event, think about the turtles people!

There are over 100 Food, Beverage vendors all they way down Bayshore. Please support the officially licensed vendors, as THEY CONTRIBUTE a portion of their revenue to offset production costs of this great community celebration.

Where are the Port-O-Potty's at!?!
More every year! You can find them along the parade route on both sides of the street, near all reserved seating sections, and in downtown at the Pirate Street Fest.

Do your best to not break the seal :-p

Are ATMs on the parade route ?
Yeah buddy. NOTE: that charity beer gardens and event vendors accept CASH ONLY!
Can I ride a bicycle to the event?
Dude, it is hundreds of thousands of people…poor choice.

The official answer is yes, but you will have to walk it. (And yes, you will be that guy everyone points at and says “look at this idiot”)

Are there any special services for disabled patrons?
Yes indeed! At the intersection of Ashley Drive and Whiting Street has a FREE viewing area, BUT you will have a parking fee and a Disabled vehicle permit is required. You will have to park in the Fort Brooke Garage. You are gonna have to get there early since parking is first come first serve :-/

Note: There are no seats or bleachers in this reserved area.

In order to ensure accommodation for as many disabled patrons as possible, the number of guests per disabled patron is limited to three people.

Disabled patrons can be accommodated in reserved parade seating sections along Bayshore and/or at the Gasparilla Invasion Brunch at the Tampa Convention Center. To order, visit Gasparilla Treasures™ or call 813-251-8844. Please notify your ticket representative of any special needs.

Can I Dock My Boat Anywhere?

Ehhhhh, not really. Docking space is extremely limited around Downtown on parade day. If you try to  to “come ashore” along the Bayshore Boulevard or any private property without a permit you will be shot. (Not really, but it is prohibited) The Marina area along Bayshore between Platt Street and the Davis Island Bridge, may be available but you will have to hit up the City of Tampa Parks Department (Phone: 813-259-1604).

Can I cross Bayshore during the parade?
That is a BIG NO! Get your life together and be there on time if you are in the bleachers.

Reserved Parade Seating MAY be allowed to cross Bayshore at Reserved Parade Seating gates and ONLY when there is a break in the parade lineup as permitted by the gate security officer. Gate security will escort guests across the street ONLY when allowed by Police / Sheriff officers.

IT IS NOT THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE EVENT IF YOU ARRIVE LATE AND CANNOT GET TO YOUR SEATS DUE TO THE PARADE HAVING ALREADY STARTED

How can my peeps and I be in the parade?

Chances be the time you are reading this it is proabably too late for this year. BUT The Gasparilla Parade Committee reviews all applications and selects all the participants for the Gasparilla Parade of the Pirates each year. The application deadline is in October prior to the event. For an application, please contact the Gasparilla Parade Committee at (813) 251-4500.
